Insight

Vakko is, in my view, the Hermès of Turkey. A heritage fashion house renowned for its craftsmanship, world-class silk production, and long-standing reputation for luxury. While its products and retail presence reflected timeless sophistication, the brand’s digital experience had fallen behind the standards set by its international peers. The challenge was to modernize Vakko’s online presence without compromising the elegance and refinement that define the brand.

Solution / The Idea

As Creative Director and Client Lead, I oversaw the complete redesign of shop.vakko.com and Vakko’s corporate website, leading both creative direction and client relations from concept through launch. Working with a  multidisciplinary team, we rebuilt the entire digital platform, introducing a cleaner visual language, refined typography, and a modern UI system aligned with Vakko’s luxury positioning.

Operating from Los Angeles while Vakko’s headquarters were in Istanbul, we turned the time difference into an advantage: evening reviews with the client allowed for overnight implementation and next-day delivery. Over the course of two years, our partnership expanded to include product photography and email marketing, ensuring Vakko’s new digital identity remained consistent across every touchpoint.

Strategic Insight

During development, we identified an opportunity to connect Vakko’s multiple sub-brands under a unified navigation. Though initially met with hesitation, the change ultimately improved user flow across the ecosystem, driving cross-traffic and measurable growth in online sales.
