Self Portrait Project (SPP), founded by National Geographic award-winning photographer Andy Lin, hired UPD to translate their participatory art installation into a mobile experience. The project invites individuals to tell their own visual story on their own terms through a camera rig built around a one-way mirror and HD camera.
I designed the architecture and user interface for a mobile app that connects to a Raspberry Pi micro-computer, replacing the physical trigger with a phone interface. The app enables users to capture portraits, receive instant feedback, and share their images on an integrated social feed, transforming a personal moment of reflection into a shared visual dialogue.
